Fractal Constraints
A downloadable game for Windows
Fractal Constraints is a movement-based VR puzzle game where you solve various test rooms.
You will be moving through the game in 2 ways of unconventional movement:
- Wheelchair-based movement, which gives the feeling of being clunky and limited.
- Anti-gravity based movement, which gives the feeling of moving freely without any limits.
A combination of both methods of moving around will be needed to solve all the puzzles, so goodluck!
DISCLAIMER!
(This game is best played on a Quest 2 or 3 headset connected to a computer, since it's programmed with said intention. Also make sure that your playspace is centered correctly and you'll play the game seated).
(The game is not tested with any other headset and not tested with SteamVR, in case it not working correctly)
This project is part of my final Master's Degree assignment and will stay in this Demo state until further notice.

The wheelchair seems to get stuck or move extremely slowly after returning to it in the gravity room. I can rotate fine and all was OK up to this point. I did increase the speed of everything slightly using the 'wall chart'.
Is it me or is the movement reversed too?
I did recenter it a few times but it had no effect.
Thank you for trying out the game. Yes, the movement might feel weird sometimes, since it's relative to your playspace direction. If you get put back into the chair and decide to rotate around yourself, instead of recentering ingame, the movement will start to feel that way.
I haven't put more time into this project anymore to figure out a fix for it. Basically recentering ingame while sitting the same direction as you sat down and started the game should get you further for now.
